A DISQUALIFIED driver who was stopped by police when he was on his way to MOT his car was put on a curfew order at Grantham Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

Kaspars Runkauskis, of Hillingford Way, Grantham, admitted driving whilst disqualified with no insurance or MOT and without a valid licence.

He was put on a 32-week community order with a 16-week curfew between 7pm and 5am. He was fined £150 plus costs, had six points on his licence and was banned for four months.

District Judge Richard Blake said: “You shouldn’t have been driving. If someone was bleeding to death and there was no ambulance I might accept that but otherwise there’s no mitigation.”
