A POLISH man with no driving licence was caught drunk behind the wheel.

Tomasz Wilk, of Albert Street, Grantham, admitted drink driving, driving without a licence and driving without insurance.

Wilk, 30, was driving along Dudley Road in Grantham when he was spotted travelling at high speed by police.

He was pulled over while behind the wheel of his wife’s gold volvo and found to be close to three times over the drink-drive limit.

Wilk had just left a barbecue when he decided to drive home.

Rory McMillan, defending, told the court Wilks was “ashamed” of his actions and finding himself in court.

He added: “He should not have driven the car. It was a stupid mistake.”

Wilk was banned from driving for two years and fined £310. He must also pay costs of £85 and a £15 surcharge.
