POLICE in Grantham stopped a driver who was found to have hidden 100 blue pills in the compartment where his car radio should have been.
Daniel Lack, 33, was stopped in Grantham by police who searched him and a passenger. However, no drugs were found until the search moved to Lack’s car.
A bag of around 100 blue pills was discovered, later found to be diazepam - a drug which one must have a prescription for to be in possession of.
Each pill had an estimated value of £1.
Lack told police the drugs were for personal use only.
Chris Pye-Smith, defending, said: “He bought it because it helps him to sleep.
“When his methadone was reduced he had difficulty getting to sleep.”
Lack, of Leasingham near Sleaford, admitted possession of the Class C drug.
He was fined £135 and ordered to pay costs of £85 along with a £15 surcharge.
