Drug use caused woman to steal clothes and deodorant

A RELAPSED drug user who stole children’s clothes and deodorant was glad to be at Grantham Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday in the hope of getting help with her habit.

Lisa Moore, of Belmont Grove, Grantham, admitted stealing 11 cans of deodorant from Tuffies, in Westgate, and £239.50 worth of clothes from BHS in Grimsby.

Chris Pye-Smith, defending, said Moore had not been in trouble until recently when she relapsed into drug use. He said: “The arrest has motivated her in some respects. She is glad it happened to stop her getting more deeply into trouble.”

District Judge John Stobart put her on a 12 month community order with supervision and a drug rehabilitation requirement.

He said: “It’s a shame you’ve gone back into drugs, you must feel that more than anyone.”
