Drunk man threw three punches in Market Place takeaway

A POLICE officer who was surrounded by people arguing in Grantham Market Place on June 18 saw a man throw three punches at someone in a takeaway.

Luke Todd, of Kestrel Court, Grantham, admitted causing a fear of unlawful violence at Grantham Magistrates’ Court.

Rob Arthur, defending, said he was unfortunate to be the only one before the courts as other fights were going on.

Todd, 22, who struggled to recall details of the incident because he was drunk, did not know if he was acting in self-defence.

He was fined £135. He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and £15 victim surcharge.
