AN ALCOHOLIC became verbally aggresive when police arrested her after a domestic incident.

Linda Halpin, of Central Place, Grantham, shouted homophobic remarks at the officer and then when he took a cigarette off her she tried to punch him but was handcuffed.

She was then charged with assaulting an officer. She then spat at the officer and kicked him three times.

Halpin said she did not fully remember the incident but is seeking help for alcohol problems.

District Judge Richard Blake fined Halpin £120 and made her pay £120 compensation and a contribution to costs.
