Golfer told to behave after berating a fellow player for a dangerous shot

A GOLFER who lost his temper after he was nearly hit by another player’s ball was told to behave himself at Belton Park golf course in the future.

Ian Doran, of St Pierre Avenue, Grantham, was playing golf on July 22 when a ball landed about 20 yards away from him. He picked up the ball and threw it away.

When the other golfer came to speak to him about it he grabbed him. Another man approached and he pushed him away.

Chris Pye-Smith, defending, said Doran was sensitive about dangerous play because he had been badly injured when he was hit by a ball in 2002.

Doran was bound over to keep the peace and improve his behaviour with the victim and other golfers. If not he risks having to pay £250.
