A man awaiting trial on assault and criminal damage charges breached his bail by doing some work on a house.

Christopher Elliot Stray, of Lime Grove, Grantham, admitted the breach of bail on September 20 when he appeared in custody.

Prosecuting, Marie Stace said police officers were called to an address in Uplands Drive, Grantham, where they found Stray getting up by the side of a bed in an upstairs room.

One of the terms of his bail was not to go to Uplands Drive.

Defending, Bill Fraser said that Stray had been asked to go to the property to do some work on it.

Mr Fraser said his client had mental health issues and was somewhat immature.

The magistrates imposed the same bail conditions on Stray - not to go to Uplands Drive and not to contact two named people.

Stray will go on trial, accused of assault by beating and criminal damage in Uplands Drive on May 21, on December 17.
