Cigarette cravings led to a woman being banned from driving for 20 months.

Julie Towning, of Long Street, Great Gonerby, was more than twice over the drink-drive limit when she was stopped by police entering Asda car park after officers noticed a broken off-side light.

Rob Arthur, defending, said: “She was going foolishly to get some cigarettes from Asda.

“It was clearly a mistake and she is very, very sorry to be ruining her good character.”

Towning, 33, admitted drink-driving. She was fined £110, must pay £85 in costs and a £20 surcharge.
