A meat thief said she was at her “lowest point” when stealing from Morrisons in Grantham.

Tammy Chuter of Chestnut Grove in Grantham admitted shop theft after being caught on April 18.

Daniel Pietryka, prosecuting, told the court Chuter planned to sell the two beef joints to pay for drugs.

Chuter, 29, defending herself, said she has since stopped using drugs after receiving help from DART.

She added: “When I did that I was at my lowest point.”

Chuter was given a 12-month conditional discharge and must pay £15 costs.
