A teenager found himself in court after ignoring a police order to leave the town centre.

James Mason of Braemar Court, Grantham, was given the order by police officers after getting into a drunken argument with another male.

The order prevented Mason, 18, from being in the town centre for 48 hours but three hours later, at around 3.30am, he was found ordering fast-food in Butcher’s Row.

Mason, defending himself, said: “I know what I did was wrong. I don’t really have an excuse for it.

“I should not have had that much to drink.”

Magistrates sentenced Mason to a six-month conditional discharge. He must pay a £15 surcharge and £50 costs.
