A man accused of attempting to syphon off fuel from parked lorries on the A1 at Grantham will be tried at Grantham Magistrates’ Court in December.

Hamarshid Hawbash, formerly of Boundary Street, Lincoln, but now living in Witney Street, Sheffield, is alleged to have been in possession of four containers and a length of rubber hose.

The 21-year-old admitted driving without insurance and driving without a licence but denies a charge of going equipped for theft.

The trial will be held on December 17. Hawbash was released on unconditional bail.
