A woman has denied dishonestly making false statements to the local authority to claim a total of £6,768 in benefits which she was not entitled to.
Joanne Salmon, 35, of Marshall Street, Sunderland, faces a charge of making a false statement to South Kesteven District Council between June 13, 2011, and November 27, 2012, to gain Housing and Council Tax benefit and another charge of making a false statement to SKDC between June 8, 2011, and February 14, 2012, to gain Employment Support Allowance. She pleaded not guilty to both charges at Grantham Magistrates Court.
The magistrates adjourned the case to March 20 for trial at Grantham. Salmon was granted unconditional bail.
