A MAN walked out of a Grantham supermarket with a 23 inch television set, magistrates were told.
George Patterson, 36, of Commercial Road, Grantham, admitted stealing the TV from Asda on November 16.
He also admitted theft of two bottles of Bells Whisky from Sainsbury’s on April 9, four bottles of spirits from Asda in Newark on April 28 and going equipped for burglary on the same date.
The court was told Patterson left Asda in Newark with the bottles of spirits after using wire cutters to remove the security tags.
These offences put him in breach of his bail condition from April 9, which stated he was allowed to only shop in Morrisons.
Five months earlier, on November 16, he was seen leaving Asda in Grantham with a TV worth £199, which was not recovered.
Judith Armstrong, defending, said Patterson was in the process of applying for jobs. He had just found a place to live after eight months of homelessness but had missed a benefits appointment when he moved house, meaning he had been without any money. Sentence was adjourned for reports.
