PUSHING a moped home from the pub led to a seven day driving disqualification for a London student.

Costin Iscu, of Chanders Avenue, New Sothgate, London, was visiting a friend in Dry Doddington on February 23 when the incident happened.

Iscu was outside the Wheatsheaf pub when a police officer, responding to reports of mopeds being ridden without helmets, confiscated his keys. A few hours later the officer returned to find Iscu pushing the moped with the lights and engine on. He was breathalysed and recorded a reading of 79mcg in breath - the limit is 35mcg. Iscu, who admitted the offence, did not realise he was breaking the law.

Iscu was fined £65 and ordered to pay £30 towards costs and £15 victim surcharge.
