POLICE cracked down on ‘boy racers’ in Grantham and Stamford this week, seizing six cars in the process.

Police targeted drivers in Wickes car park in Gonerby Hill Foot, Lidl car park in Union Street, Conduit Lane and the Market Place as well as those in areas of Stamford.

As well as seizing cars, ten drivers were reported for driving without due care and attention, 44 received non-endorsable fixed penalty tickets for offences including driving without a seatbelt and six more received endorsable tickets for driving while using a mobile phone and speeding.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesman said all available powers will be used to “ensure that anyone stepping an inch out of line is dealt with in a robust manner”.
