A HUNT is on to trace two men who raided a security van in Bingham yesterday (Tuesday).

A large quantity of cash was stolen from the rear of the Vauxhall van as it was parked up outside Toot Hill School, in The Banks, at around 11.45am.

The driver was uninjured.

Police, who will not confirm the amount of cash stolen, want to trace two white men seen in the area at the time of the theft. Both were aged in their early to mid-20s. One was of a stocky build and wore a black hooded tracksuit. He had a shaved head.

The other was about 6ft tall, of slim build and had short dark hair and olive skin. He was wearing a blue hooded tracksuit top and black tracksuit trousers.

Police believe a driving instructor seen in the area at the time may be a key witness and are appealing for them to come forward. The instructor is believed to have been parked up in a black vehicle in The Banks as the thieves entered the van.

The driving instructor or anyone with information about the thieves or the stolen cash, should contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
