DAYTIME burlgaries are on the rise in Grantham, police warn.

Lincolnshire Police is urging people to be alert following burglaries in Sandcliffe Road, Hawksdale Close, Westerdale Road, Fletcher Street and Saltersford Grove over a two-day period last week.

Most of the burglaries took place in the daytime and included windows being smashed.

The police have increased patrols in affected areas but need people to come forward with descriptions of those responsible for the burglaries on April 13 and 14.

Insp Phil Taylor said: “All of these offences are happening in daylight areas and someone must have seen or heard some suspicious activity.

“If you see anyone hanging around properties in your road then call us immediately – you are never wasting our time and you might just help us catch these offenders.

“If you do see anyone casing properties then make sure you jot down a good description of them and if they get into a car then note down the model, colour and if possible, the registration.

“We will have more officers in residential areas and if we work together we can catch whoever is doing this.”
