Police are appealing for information and witnesses after a catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle in Grantham.

On Saturday, at around 10am, a local man parked his blue Kia Sportage in Asda in Union Street. When he returned around an hour later and started the engine he noticed a difference in the engine sound; a warning light also illuminated on the dashboard. The driver took it to his garage where it was confirmed that the vehicle’s catalytic converter was missing.

It is believed the offence could have happened while the car was parked in the supermarket car park. Police are appealing for any information and witnesses in relation to this incident and have asked for anyone who might have seen any suspicious activity in the area at the time to contact Lincolnshire Police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident 143 of March 14. Alternatively, contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
