Police news: Warnings to Grantham motorists

* Police are urging people with 4x4s and vans to keep a look out for any suspicious behaviour around their vehicles after a spate of catalytic converter thefts.

If you see someone acting suspiciously around a vehicle, note the suspected thief’s registration and call 999.

* A stereo was stolen from a car parked in Queen Street, Grantham, overnight on Sunday. The door was forced to get entry to the vehicle. Inspector Gary Stewart said: “If you’re going to leave your stuff on display you can expect it to be stolen. Don’t be stupid.”

* Police arrested a Grantham man on Tuesday in connection with the theft of sat navs from cars in the town. Martin Patrick Moore, 28, of no fixed abode, was charged with taking a sat nav from a car in Launder Terrace, Grantham, on Tuesday and a further charge of the theft of a sat nav in the town on Wednesday.
