A CANNABIS user was fined £100 after admitting growing a plant at his home for personal use.

The house of Paul Williamson, 46, of Norton Street, Grantham, was raided by police on February 22.

They found the plant growing in Williamson’s bedroom.

Rob Arthur, defending, said: “A single plant was being grown by Williamson. He has been a long-term user of cannabis since the early ‘90s. It was clearly for his own use, there was no sophisticated set up for growing.”

Williamson, who has to pay costs and victim surcharge, used the drug for anxiety but is now trying alternative medication.
