POLICE are warning families in Long Bennington and the surrounding villages to keep their properties secure following a sneak-in burglary on Wednesday.

Crooks got into the house in Acklands Lane at about 4pm, entering through an unlocked kitchen door.

They searched through the bedrooms, and came across two pieces of jewellery which they stole.

The offenders are described as two white males, in their mid-teens, with dark hair and tanned skin, both wearing dark blue anoraks and blue trousers. They were seen a short while later in the rear garden of a property in Church Street and then left towards the Drury Park area of Long Bennington.
