A NOT guilty plea was made by a defendant accused of theft and criminal damage.

Michael Evans, of The Waterfront, Welham Street, Grantham, denies stealing clothing worth £66 from Matalan in Grantham with an accomplice on August 2, and also to damaging a Suzuki Vitara worth £2,800 in Commercial Road, Grantham, on July 2.

Evans, 31, chose a trial at the magistrates’ court where he will reappear on November 11 on the charge of criminal damage, followed on November 15 by his trial on the theft charge.

Magistrates granted bail on the condition that Evans does not associate with an alleged accomplice, enter Dysart Road Retail Park, or communicate with two alleged victims.
