A FIGHT between twin brothers ended with one being arrested after pulling his brother’s jacket over his head and punching him repeatedly, a court heard.

Ryan Lenton, of Chestnut Grove, Grantham, admitted causing actual bodily harm at Grantham Magistrates’ Court after seeing his brother outside the council offices in St Peter’s Hill on September 20.

Jill Derby, prosecuting, said Lenton started shouting at his brother about his ex-partner and child. Lenton them pushed the victim and he pushed him back against the wall.

In a statement read in court the victim said: “Lenton told me to get off so I let go and stepped backwards as he punched me. He pulled my jacket over my head so I couldn’t see and then he hit me in the head repeatedly for about five minutes.”

The victim was hit around 20 times causing him bruising to his cheek and a broken tooth.

David Lee, defending, said Lenton was provoked by his twin who was suggesting he was an unfit parent.

He said: “He had given warnings that he had to stop it. He even walked away on one occasion.”

The case was adjourned until November 3 while a report is prepared. Lenton was released on conditional bail.
