Two more unlocked cars have sat navs stolen by thieves

Have your say

TWO more unlocked cars were targeted by thieves this week prompting police to issue another warning about security.

A Vauxhall Vectra was parked in Lincoln Close on Friday night (July 8) when thieves stole a Navman sat nav, a horse blanket and some clippers.

A car was also left unlocked in Pond Street, Great Gonerby. A brief case and sat nav were taken.

Police spokesman James Newall said: “This is an ongoing problem. You are increasing your chances of becoming a victim if you leave valuables on show. Thieves are patrolling residential areas, they will smash a window, but if you leave your car unlocked as well you are adding to the chances. You will also struggle to make an insurance claim.”
