AN uninsured driver with no licence who was twice over the legal drink-drive limit was given a £320 fine by Grantham magistrates at court on Wednesday.
Richie Banks, of Cambridge Street, Grantham, admitted driving the car while over the legal alcohol limit and only holding a provisional licence.
He was stopped by police when he drove into the Goose at the Bank pub car park, in Guildhall Street.
Marie Stace, prosecuting, said: “The male front passenger was drinking a can of beer. Banks got out of the vehicle. He was unsteady on his feet.”
Banks, who was waiting for his father to sort out the insurance on the new car, was disqualified for 20 months.
