'Crisis situation' as Grantham Business Club's chairperson-elect stands down

With just hours to go until its annual meeting, Grantham Business Club has declared a "crisis situation" as its chairperson-elect has stood down.

The club is to meet at Belton Park Golf Club, where the new chairperson is expected to be chosen. The club is now calling for last-minute nominations.

The club's Harriet Bunting said: "The chairperson-elect has had to withdraw their intention to stand - nominations are required for the position, and we need your help!"

At a club meeting in November, current chairwoman Sue Hodgson made a plea for someone to take over the reins, or else it will fold.

Also on the agenda for tonight's meeting - starting at 6.30pm - is a progress update on Downtown's plan to build a designer shopping village and a talk by a representative of InvestSK on its latest developments.

Tickets will be available on the door. Time is allocated for networking and a hot buffet will be served. The meeting should draw to a close at 9pm.
