Popular children’s author Dame Jacqueline Wilson gave a talk to youngsters in a special event at Priory Ruskin Academy at the weekend.
As well as discussing her new book ‘Little Stars’, the latest in her historical Hetty Feather series, Jacqueline told the captivated crowd many stories from her past and how she got into writing.
She was also on hand to open the academy’s new reading room.
Speaking to the Journal, Dame Jacqueline said: “I love doing events like this and I’ve had such a lovely welcome here.”
‘Little Stars’ is her 103rd book, and tells the story of how heroine Hetty and her friend Diamond come to find themselves as stars of a Victorian music hall.
A stage version of Hetty’s exploits is also coming to Nottingham’s Theatre Royal in February, with details available at www.hettyfeatherlive.com
