Supporters of the UK leaving the EU are set to take to the streets of Lincolnshire tomorrow (Saturday) as part of a day of action.

The Vote Leave campaign’s #TakeControlDay will see volunteers from different ‘out’ groups joined together for the first time in Grantham, Horncastle, Spalding, Skegness and Boston.

According to the Vote Leave website there will be ‘hundreds of events across the country with thousands of volunteers taking part’.

A statement on the website said: “There are just over 100 days until the most important vote of our lifetime.

“This referendum is our chance to take back control from the EU – it may be our last chance to have a vote on many issues, such as immigration and asylum, for decades. Please help us win by playing your part.”

Mike Beecham. chair of UKIP in Louth and Horncastle area and representative of Grassroots Out (GO) campaign said they handed out more than 800 leaflets in Louth last Saturday and expect an even bigger response in Horncastle tomorrow.

He said a number of Conservative Party members had indicated their support of Go and he was confident of more support.

He added that tomorrow’s action involved a number of different ‘out’ groups joining together for the first time.

He said: “We’ve had a lot of support from all across the political parties and while some people have told us they intend to vote to stay in the EU, a lot more have given us their support.”

The EU Referendum will take place on Thursday, June 23, 2016.

Members of the public attending the polling booths will be asked the question ‘Should the United Kingdom remain a member of the European Union or leave the European Union?”.

The options for voters to place their cross next to will be either ‘Remain a member of the European Union’ and ‘Leave the European Union’.
