Police say the death of missing Long Bennington man Derek Foster is not being treated as suspicious.

Mr Foster, 83, was found yesterday afternoon on the verge of the A1 near to the Foston/Allington turn-off. Formal identification has yet to be carried out.

His next of kin have been made aware and a post mortem examination is expected to be carried out in the next few days to establish the cause of death.

A police spokesman said: “Lincolnshire Police would like to thank the public for circulating the appeal to find Mr Foster, including those who organised searches and went out in the area raising awareness, as well as the media who published the appeal.”
