Deer rescued from River Witham in Grantham

Firefighters rescued a roebuck deer from the River Witham in the town this morning.

Grantham firefighters attended the river opposite Welham Street just before 7am. A spokesman for the fire service said the crew ‘used manpower’ to release a deer from the river.
