The National Trust have responded after a reader shared photos with the Journal showing the derailment of the miniature train at Belton House on Monday.
Hayley Louise shared photos of the incident which took place in the grounds of the National Trust property near Grantham.
In response a spokesperson for the National Trust said: “As part of the recent revamp of Belton’s outdoor adventure playground the line for the miniature train has been extended, with a new station too. As with all new additions to the playground, we are monitoring new equipment very closely and are aware of the incident when the train derailed recently.
“No-one was hurt in the incident. The situation is being managed and any work found to be required shall be completed efficiently and effectively.
“Meanwhile, the train is continuing to run under constant monitoring to keep the ride completely safe for visitors. If there were any risk, however minimal, to the safety of visitors the train would be closed immediately. The safety of our visitors is always paramount and the principal concern behind such decisions.”
