A comprehensive planning application for 227 homes on land off Dysart Road in Grantham has been received by the planning authority.
Constable Homes Ltd, an Essex-based developer, hopes to build a mix of apartments and terraced, semi-detached and detached houses on the six-hectare site, bordered by Dysart Road to the south and Valley Road to the east.
If given the go-ahead, there will be 10 one-bedroom apartments, 94 two-bedroom houses, 119 three-bedroom houses and four four-bedroom houses. It is expected that 20 per cent of the properties will be classed as affordable housing.
A public open space and small play area also form part of the plans, as does a wetland area by Barrowby Stream, which runs along the north of the proposed development.
The planning application has been submitted to South Kesteven District Council for consideration, although no decision has yet been made.
According to the applicant, the land had already been identified by SKDC as a suitable location for a residential development in its draft Grantham Area Action Plan, and more recently in its draft Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment.
