Doctor’s bag and iPad among items stolen from 20 unlocked cars in Grantham
Numerous items including an iPad and a doctor’s bag have been stolen from 20 unlocked vehicles in Grantham in the space of a week.
Between June 6 and June 13, 20 vehicles have been easily stolen from with thieves simply opening a door. Items taken include an iPod, Ray-Ban sunglasses, wallets, cash, keys, laptops, paperwork, a video camera, tools, drills, a coat, a lighter and a can of Red Bull as well as the iPad and doctor’s bag.
During the same period entry was only forced to one vehicle – a Volkswagen Transporter which had tools stolen from it.
Gary Stewart, Inspector for Grantham, says: “If you leave your car or van unlocked your vehicle is a sitting-duck for thieves who will rummage around for literally anything of value and sometimes they will take trivial items too.
“Thefts of this nature are incredibly frustrating for the victims and for our officers investigating as they can be simply avoided.
“Please check your vehicles are always locked and remove anything that could make you a target – it isn’t worth taking a chance as you could become the next victim.”
