A dog was sadly killed in a fire yesterday at a mobile home on Stagglethorpe Lane, Fulbeck.

At 5.30pm crews from Brant Broughton, Newark and Sleaford were called to the scene and used two main jets, a hose reel and two breathing apparatus to tackle the blaze. The road was also closed whilst they dealt with the fire.

Two people were treated for smoke inhalation, and a dog sadly passed away.

As well as causing damage to the mobile home, the fire spread to fencing, hedgerow, a shed and its contents.

The cause is currently under investigation.
