A double dose of Coronation Street celebrities – Geoffrey Hughes and Patricia Phoenix – came to Grantham
Long-time Coronation Street fans will no doubt recognise actors Geoffrey Hughes and Patricia Phoenix.
Patricia, who played Elsie Tanner in the long-running soap, was in Foston in the late 1950s to open the village garden fete.
Around 30 years later, Geoffrey was special guest at a village fete in Ancaster.
The actor, best known as Eddie Yates in Corrie but also recognisable as loveable slob Onslow in Keeping Up Appearances, was invited along in August 1982.
The fete was sponsored by Ancaster-based coach company AC Williams, as the company celebrated its 25th anniversary.
Around 4,000 people turned out. With him are Isobel Sutton and her son, Nigel.
