Police have urged residents living near the Norbert Dentressangle plant in Easton, south of Grantham, to keep windows and doors closed following the blaze there this afternoon.

They warned that there was a “possibility of asbestos dust” and toxic fumes coming from the blaze which started just after 3pm today.

As our picture by Journal photographer Toby Roberts shows, the smoke from the fire rose hundreds of feet into the air and could be seen from miles around.
