Smoke continued to rise hundreds of feet into the air from the massive blaze at the Norbert Dentressangle cold storage plant at Easton today.

As this picture by Journal photographer Toby Roberts shows thick black smoke could be seen from miles around after the fire started at about 3pm this afternoon. Twelves fire crews attended the blaze and police closed off a number of roads close to the plant. Hundreds of employees were evacuated from Norbert and the PAS frozen food factory next door,

Nobody was reported hurt or missing in the incident. Police warned residents living nearby to stay indoors and keep doors and windows shut.
