A FAMILIAR face has taken up the post of principal at a Grantham secondary school.

Louise Bennett has risen through the ranks to the top spot at St Hugh’s Maths and Computing College.

She joined the school in 2000 as a teacher of modern foreign languages and English, before going on to join the school’s leadership team.

When former principal Richard Johnston left at the end of the last term to take up the role of principal at Charles Read High School in Corby Glen, Mrs Bennett was promoted from vice principal.

She said: “I am proud and excited to be driving the school forward and will focus on building on the fantastic results of 2010.

“I aim to ensure that every student within the school makes the most of the fantastic opportunities the school has to offer and achieves their full potential.”
