Children at a Grantham nursery have delivered 18 boxes of presents to a store for Operation Christmas Child run by Samaritan’s Purse.
Logan Flower, of Clarence House Day Nursery, is pictured delivering a Christmas box to Boyes.
Nursery manager Laura Kenny said: “Over the past couple of weeks, the children in Pre-school have been learning about different countries and some of the people who live there. They have listened to a story about a bear who gets sent in a Christmas box to a little boy in Africa, who has no other toys. The children have shown a great interest in this and recognised differences between their lives and the lives of others, such as remembering that the little boy in the story had no carpet and no sink and no electricity.
“The children took special Christmas shoe boxes home and asked their parents to help them prepare a present for a little boy or girl somewhere else in the world. They filled their boxes with toys, crayons, note pads, soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste.”
The boxes are sent to needy children around the world.
