THE new management team at Castlegate Day Nursery is celebrating after receiving a ‘good’ Ofsted report.
Manager Michelle Webster started at the nursery in 2010 when it was rated ‘satisfactory’.
She said: “Since the last Ofsted the nursery has had new owners and management and in the last year we’ve turned it around.
“We’re really pleased with the report, it’s fantastic. The staff had to embrace the changes from the new owner and myself. They’ve all worked really hard.”
The inspection report noted how well the staff at the nursery were working.
It said: “The enthusiastic staff team create a homely and stimulating environment for children through generally effective deployment of staff and use of available resources.
“Leaders and managers are successful in inspiring the staff team to review their own practice and identify appropriate areas for development to continually improve the setting for the benefit of the children.”
As well as the staff making a huge impact on the success of the nursery, Michelle said the parents have also supported the changes.
She said: “We’ve all worked together and that is reflected in all areas of the Ofsted report.
“I’m absoultely thrilled with it and the feedback we’re getting is positive.”
Despite the positive Ofsted report the hard work has not stopped for the staff at the nursery who are now aiming to improve even further.
Michelle added: “Hopefully we will get an ‘outstanding’ rating next time, that’s what we’re aiming to do.”
