CHILDREN at Grantham Prep School have been “wombling free” as part of their their underground, overground” outdoor project.

The children visited the allotments at Inner Street and spent a morning planting and learning how vegetables grow.

At the allotment the pupils participated in planting sweetcorn, peas and beans.

The children have been planting within the school grounds. They have planted tomato plants, marrows, peas, lettuce and sweet peas to care for during the summer term.

At the allotment the children participated in planting sweetcorn, peas and beans. They added straw to the strawberry bed and watered the plants. The children will return later in the year to see how the plants are progressing.

* The school will be holding a taster on Friday June 10 for parents to find out what the school offers. Contact the school on 01476 593293.
