A man has been sentenced today (Friday) at Lincoln Crown Court to eight months in prison for possession of 37 indecent images of children.

The images were found on the computer of Andrew James Gwyther, 49, of Grantham. In addition to the custodial sentence, Gwyther was also handed a five-year Sexual Offences Protection Order.

Investigating Officer DS Victoria Midgley felt the case is a warning to others who possess such images that a custodial sentence awaits.

She said: “It sends out a very strong message to those that view and download indecent images of children.”
