Elderly resident is victim of distraction burglary in Skillington

Police are seeking information after an elderly resident in Skillington was the victim of a suspected distraction burglary.

Three men knocked on the door of the residents door at around 1.15pm on Wednesday, and said there were there to lay down rat poison.

One man distracted the occupant at the back door whilst another man went in through the front.

Jewellery and coins were stolen.

A police spokesman said: "Incident 246 of 4 July refers. At around 13:15, three men called at an address on Buckminster Lane in Skillington and distracted the resident. Jewellery and coins were stolen.

"There have been no arrests at this stage."
