A Grantham resident has sent in a photo of overflowing bins next to his apartment.
Steve Jack, who lives at River View Maltings, took pictures of the rubbish which is lying next to the bins because he says there are not enough bins provided.
He said: “My apartment is next door, so I have a constant bin smell in here so can’t open my Windows to let fresh air in as more bin smell will come in.”
The Journal contacted South Kesteven District Council about Mr Jack’s complaint.
SKDC’s Business Manager for Streetcare Services Keith Rowe said: “On October 23 we could not access the residence at Riverview Maltings and make collections due to parked cars in the vicinity blocking our vehicles. Despite attempts to access at later times this was still not possible.
“The management agency responsible for the complex chose to not have a fortnightly recycling collection but we have offered residents clear bags as a solution for those who wish to use this option.
“On November 6, we are set to clear the area of all black bin waste subject to access, an issue we have discussed with the management agency. We will also meet with them at a date to be agreed to consider the options available to ensure that scheduled collections can take place on the correct day.”
