This is where Price Whiting Hodgson comes in. Based on Avenue Road in the heart of Grantham, they have a team of three expert advisers, each with different areas of expertise, who work together to provide the best service for their clients.

Owners Tom Price and Shaun Whiting have recently bought the business from Andrew Hodgson, who had been running it under the name of Hodgson Wealth Management since 2006, building up an extensive portfolio of clients.

Prior to that, chartered financial planner Andrew had a long career spanning 25 years. With retirement on the horizon, he had been looking for some time for the right people to succeed him and take the business forward.

“I needed to build up the right team of people around me to allow my clients to continue to be looked after because I have known many of them for a long time. I wanted continuity for them.”

He knows that, in Tom and Shaun, he has found the perfect combination of skill, experience and enthusiasm.

Andrew will continue to work alongside managing director Tom and director Shaun for the foreseeable future, bringing a wealth of knowledge to the team, and helping to ensure a smooth transition for existing clients.

Tom, who is Grantham-born and bred, is a law graduate was recruited by Andrew seven years ago, who had known him since he was at school.

Shaun and Andrew met six years ago, when Shaun was working for Lloyds.

He had joined the bank in 1988 and worked with them for 27 years before deciding to make a move.

“The favourite part of my job was always meeting clients and helping them, and I have far more opportunity to do that here,” he said.

Both Tom and Shaun are committed to ongoing professional development, to ensure they build on their existing skills.

All three are clear that the job of Price Whiting Hodgson is to helping people decide what is important to them and then putting proper plans in place to allow them to achieve their financial goals.

As part of a regulated profession, and supported by FTSE 100 listed company St James’s Place, Price Whiting Hodgson can give clients the assurance that they are in safe hands.

An initial 45-minute consultation, at the firm’s own cost, will let them explain to people exactly what they do, how they do it, how they get paid, and establish what a potential client might want to achieve.

From there, people can go away fully-informed, and decide if they want to take the next step.

Tom, Shaun and Andrew are confident that, whatever your circumstances, whatever your stage in life, and whatever your financial goals, taking time to visit Price Whiting Hodgson will be one of the best moves you ever make.

Indeed, it speaks volumes about the company that the lion’s share of new referrals has come from existing clients, happy with the advice they have received.

“There is no better measure of success,” Andrew said. “What have you got to lose?”
