Extension will help us to cope, says overstretched doctors’ surgery in Grantham

A doctors’ surgery in Grantham has applied to build an extension which will house two new doctors’ consulting rooms.

The plan is to build a first floor extension at the back of St John’s Medical Centre on London Road above a building used to house the surgery’s records.

The surgery has taken on two more doctors this year and replaced another who left through ill health.

Practice manager Julie Hadlow said: “Our patient list is increasing rapidly and has been for the last few years. We have applied to close the list on two occasions but it was refused. We are overstretched.”
