A family are still looking for their missing dog after he disappeared in March.

Bertie, a silver-grey Weimaraner, disappeared on a routine walk near Allington.

Peter and Kate Jackson say they searched the area for several days and are certain he must have been taken by an opportunistic thief.

Mr Jackson said: “When we got back to the car, Bertie stopped to drink from an icy puddle as I turned to open the tailgate. When I turned back he had gone. I think he probably took off after a hare and was lost to view. We have not seen him since.”

They are asking anybody who knows of an adult Weimaraner who appeared around Easter this year to get in touch with them on 01949 845408. They are offering a reward with no questions asked. A Facebook page has also been set up. Go to

Bertie can be recognised by his docked tail, small lump on the right side of his chest and a knee injury on his left rear leg.
