Family pay tribute to Ken Smith after fatal A153 crash
The family of a man who died in a car crash have paid tribute to a “generous soul”.
Ken Smith, from the Sleaford area, was driving on the A153 between the Wilsford and South Rauceby junctions when the crash happened at about 4,40pm on Friday.
His dark coloured Vauxhall Astra and a white BMW 5 Series collided. Emergency services were called but Ken, in his 60s, died from his injuries. Nobody else was seriously injured.
Formal identification has yet to take place but in a statement released today (Sunday) his family said: “Ken was a well-known man and deeply cared for in his local community. He was a generous soul with a wicked sense of humour and never more happy than when he was helping others, especially through volunteering with Lives First Responders which he did in every spare moment he had.
“He will be deeply missed by his wife, two daughters and five grandchildren, his brother, and everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him.
“The family appreciate all the support they’ve had from friends and the local community following his sudden and tragic death.”
Anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle prior to it is asked to contact the Lincolnshire Police Collision Witness Hotline on 01522 558855 quoting incident 318 of July 17.
