The family of a veteran of the D-Day landings during the Second World War have paid tribute to him following his death.

Peter William Francis Lamb was a major with the Royal Warwickshire Regiment when he landed on the beaches of France on D-Day in 1944.

Mr Lamb died aged 98 on February 1. His funeral was held last week at Grantham Crematorium Chapel, where family and friends gathered as well as representatives from his army regiment, the British Legion and Blind Veterans. A bugler played the Last Post.
